To start the month of April, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet pulled back the curtain on a new challenge for trainers to face, as the next Seven-Star Tera Raid battle will pit players against Meganium the Unrivaled. The new Seven-Star Tera Raid battle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet against Meganium will follow after a break in Seven-Star boss battles.
Known as the Herb Pokemon, Meganium is the fully-evolved form of Chikorita, and the Grass-type starter of Pokemon Gold and Silver. Normally a Grass-type Pokemon, Meganium evolves from Bayleef, starting at level 32. Though Meganium and its previous forms were initially unobtainable in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, trainers can now catch them in The Indigo Disk DLC after upgrading the Coastal Biome of the Terarium or transferring from Pokemon Home. In battle, Meganium is considered the weakest of the three Johto starters, as its defense and special defense stats are its best statistics, and it has a limited set of offensive moves.
However, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will be able to face a different form of the Herb Pokemon soon. The Seven-Star Tera Raid Battle against Meganium the Unrivaled will start on Thursday, April 4, at 8:00 PM Eastern, and end on Sunday, April 7, at 7:59 PM Eastern. Trainers who miss out on facing Meganium will get a second chance the following weekend, from April 11 to 14. The Seven-Star Tera Raid battle against Meganium the Unrivaled will be the first in nearly a month, following a second round against Charizard the Unrivaled. Meganium the Unrivaled will have the Psychic type as its Tera type, and it will grant the Mightiest Mark to Pokemon that can defeat it.
Though it is not the strongest of its Pokemon starter trio, Meganium the Unrivaled will have the Hidden Ability Leaf Guard to grant it immunity to status conditions such as poison during harsh sunlight. This means that Meganium will likely have Sunny Day as one of its available moves. While it can also use Grass-type attacks such as Solar
