There are now more than 1,000 Pokemon, and even though not all of them can boast their own plush, there are almost certainly more than 1,000 officially licensed Pokemon soft toys. Pikachu alone has been turned into a plush so many times that I've lost count. The world famous Electric-type has another one for its collection this week as Pikachu has been included in Pokemon's new Sweet Support plush range, and the Pichu it has been paired with will melt even the iciest of hearts.
The Sweet Support collection is made up of four pairs of plushes, each of which is available to buy through the Pokemon Center right now. The pairs are made up of Pokemon and their pre-evolved baby versions. So Pikachu is paired with Pichu, and the heartbreaking face Pichu is making is the leading reason why these plushes will make you emotional as soon as you clap eyes on them.
The Pokemon and its baby companion are connected by a cord. You can pull the Pokemon apart, which is presumably why the babies are so upset. However, the baby Pokemon will quickly be comforted by the big sibling they're paired with. After pulling the cord, it will slowly retract, bringing the Pokemon back together so that the scared and upset smaller Pokemon can be comforted by the Pokemon it will one day evolve into.
Pikachu and Pichu are a part of Pokemon's Sweet Support plush page. The Pokemon are connected by a cord you can pull to separate them, but when left to their own devices, that cord will retract, bringing Pikachu and its baby version together again.
The four pairs of Pokemon kicking off the Sweet Support collection are Pikachu and Pichu, Jigglypuff and Igglybuff, Marill and Azurill, and Sudowoodo with Bonsly. All four of the plush pairs cost $29.99 each and the options above and below can be found and bought by clicking the link in the boxes. Or you can check out any buy all four by visiting the Pokemon Center website.
