Pokemon Fan Crochets Adorable Mudkip Doll
Though it was a late Valentine's Day gift, a Pokemon fan crocheted an adorable Mudkip doll for their significant other, who then posted a picture of the doll for others to see. The two Pokemon fans received compliments on social media, with a number of them being directed at the doll's creator and the bond that the two trainers have.
Known as the Mud Fish Pokemon, Mudkip is the Water-type starter of the Hoenn region. It evolves into Marshtomp and Swampert at levels 16 and 36, respectively. With a blue, slimy body, a large fin on its head, and a blank but adorable expression on its face, Mudkip has been considered a fan-favorite among Pokemon trainers for its design. While Mudkip itself is not that special in Pokemon battles, its fully-evolved form, Swampert, is a bulky, Water and Ground physical attacker with decent defenses to compensate for its slow speed. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, some wild Mudkip can be obtained in The Indigo Disk DLC after upgrading the Coastal Biome part of the Terrarium for 3,000 BP.
Though crochet creations of Mudkip have been made alongside the other Hoenn starters before, one Pokemon fan decided to add a special touch to their creation before giving it to someone special. A British Reddit user named neon_draco shared a picture of the crocheted Mudkip doll they received from his girlfriend on the r/Pokemon subreddit. The crochet Mudkip had a lighter shade of blue for its body, but its whiskers and head fin remained intact. In addition to the Mud Fish Pokemon, the OP's girlfriend also crocheted a Poke Ball to go alongside it. The Mudkip and Poke Ball crochet dolls were placed next to a DualShock 4 Controller for scale. The Mudkip crochet doll was only a few inches larger than the controller.
