Pokemon Go Players Aren't Happy About Larvesta's Hatch Rate
The gradual addition of Pokemon to Pokemon Go since its launch in 2016, and the reveal of more generations of Pokemon since then, means Niantic still has more to add. The most recent Pokemon to join the party were Larvesta and its evolved form, Volcarona. Trainers aren't all that excited about Larvesta's addition though as the restrictions on how exactly you can find them make it very unlikely you'll get one, and makes it almost impossible to catch enough that you can evolve one into a Volcarona.
Unlike most other Pokemon, the only way you can currently find a Larvesta is by hatching one from an egg. While the Bug and Fire-type Pokemon can be found in 2km, 5km, and 10km eggs, checking what might potentially be waiting inside your eggs reveals Larvesta is a tier five 'mon when it comes to the odds of it waiting inside. Tier five Pokemon are the rarest when it comes to the game's eggs and have roughly a two percent chance of appearing when it hatches.

A thread in which Pokemon Go players have been sharing their disappointment at the rarity of Larvesta has been shared on TheSilphRoad subreddit. Windycitykid89 provided a screenshot of their egg odds, Larvesta's silhouette all the way down in the tier five section. Evidence that the new addition to Pokemon Go is incredibly hard to find and that this particular player is yet to hatch a single one.
Windycitykid89 has a better chance of hatching a Riolu or an Axew from the egg above, but even those odds are pretty slim. Tier four Pokemon have a five percent chance of appearing in eggs, at best, while tier three has a hatch rate of around seven percent. The difference with Larvesta, other than it being even rarer
