Microsoft might very well be teasing Playground Games' upcoming Fable reboot for its upcoming Xbox showcase in a couple of weeks.
Some hours ago, the official Xbox Twitter account posted an interesting short video for its Xbox showcase on June 11. "Do you love GAMES as much as we do?", the tweet reads. "Then you won’t want to miss the Xbox Games Showcase."
Nothing too special there, but the accompanying video might be as it might be related to the highly-anticipated Fable. We've included the tweet and video below. In this video, we can clearly hear the music from the original Fable. In addition, the glitter and sparking breadcrumb trail might also be a reference to the series as this glowing trail is used to guide players to their quest objective or start of a certain quest. Although not present in the original Fable, the "breadcrumb' trail was introduced in 2008's Fable II and was also used in 2010's Fable III. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that we'll be getting Fable news during the Xbox Showcase, but it's an interesting tease nonetheless.

Announced in 2020, the Fable reboot has reportedly faced some development issues due to Microsoft insisting that Playground uses in-house engines instead of the new Unreal Engine 5. In addition, it's been claimed that development on the reboot is progressing slowly due to the Playground having a somewhat hard time adapting to making an open-world title. Luckily, Microsoft's Matt Booty has been, as expected, greatly optimistic about the game.
