Many experienced Pokemon fans have been exploring the franchise's vast fantasy world for nearly three decades now, and one artistic player has created a set of postcards that pay homage to the many regional destinations that fans have been falling in love with since the franchise was born. With all of them being somewhat based on real-world locations, Pokemon's many regions are essentially the equivalent of countries in the fantasy world. Almost every installment of the series since Pokemon Red and Blue has introduced a whole new region for fans to set out in, with a rare few games even allowing players to journey back to regions seen in previous games. Though each generation's identity is comprised of more than just the location it takes place in, these many iconic regions are often surprisingly unique and interesting, and are paramount in giving depth to the well-loved world of Pokemon. The first four generations in the franchise feature the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh regions, and while these four destinations are inspired by different parts of Japan respectively, later regions instead represent other real-world countries all across the world.
