Palworld's had its first big update in the oven for a while now, promising brick numero uno in its endgame structure via a raid boss, Bellanoir. Well, she's here now, and she has not one but two flavours of dunking on your squad.
As the patch notes themselves read, Bellanoir can be called forth by way of slab at a specific summoning altar. Interestingly enough, the notes add that raid bosses «can not be captured,» though it does mention that Bellanoir drops Pal eggs, so that's likely how you'll add her to your collection. Pocketpair warns players about her «extreme» version, which «is incredibly powerful and difficult to defeat».
There's also been a whole batch of loot added to the game. Manuals for both you and your Pals—technical points for humans, experience points for Pal-monsters. The new Homeward Thundercloud acts as a kind of hearthstone, bamfing you to your nearest base, and there's a new shirt that's fashionable (and functional) no matter the weather, giving you protections against all elements.
The game's seen some quality of life bumps, too. For instance, aiming your sphere at a Pal will show you how many you've captured already—great if you're aiming for the 10 Pal capture bonus. You can also see item stats on the technology screen before unlocking them, which'll help avoid buyer's regrets.
Meanwhile, new advancements in Pal mistreatment allow you to micromanage your captives until they finally snap, if that's what you're into. You can limit what work your Pals can do, what items they can put in certain chests, and link supply chains up to workbenches. All in all, a bunch of improvements.
Pal barons can also interrupt their Pal's lunch breaks by picking them up and hurling them at their assigned jobs like they're trying to break ankles on the basketball court. «Pals recover their SAN while taking a break, so be careful!» warn the patch notes, in the same way a waiter might warn a diner that the plate they've just been handed is hot.
