Developer Ironwood Studios isn't done with Pacific Drive just yet. Its debut game, a roguelike survival experience about traversing a volatile landscape in a banged-up old car, has been a success for the team, and its latest update is a big one, allowing players to fully customise a huge variety of difficulty parameters. You can get a taster in the above trailer.
With the update installed, you'll be able to choose from more difficulty presets, allowing you to either amp up or tone down the level of challenge. For example, Scenic Tour lowers or disables most of the survival mechanics so you can focus on the story, while the other extreme, Iron Wagon, introduces permadeath. While there are various presets to choose from, the best part of the update is the ability to tweak dozens of aspects yourself.
Over 50 settings have been added to the game, allowing you to completely customise the experience to your liking. You can enhance or reduce pretty much every part of Pacific Drive. If you find the crafting recipes too demanding, you can lower their costs; if you want the damage to the car to be harsher, you can do that. It's a cool update that makes things much more flexible.
The cherry on top of this update are some new customisation options, which are inspired by the game's various anomalies. You can deck out your station wagon with various decals and items to make it look like it really belongs in the zone.
