Apple TV+ renews its critically acclaimed historical-fiction drama series Pachinko for season 2. The adaptation is based on Min Jin Lee's best-selling novel of the same name that dives into the story of a Korean immigrant family, spanning four generations, through the eyes of the story’s protagonist, Sunja. The book depicts the uprooted family experiencing famed historical events like Japan’s occupation of Korea and World War II. Pachinko was brought to the small screen by show creator Soo Hugh (The Killing, The Terror) who also acts as writer and executive producer.
Now, Apple TV+ has announced Pachinko will be back for season 2. Per the streamer, the new season will continue the riveting story already established, which will still be told in the Korean, Japanese, and English languages. The news of Pachinko being picked up for season 2 is rather timely as the season 1 finale was just released on Apple TV+.
