It's been 17 years since Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen last played Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, respectively, on the big screen, in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith — and now they're returning for a new adventure in the Star Wars galaxy, one that will see them come face to face for the first time since Anakin turned to the dark side.
Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and the Great Jedi Purge, which saw Emperor Palpatine enact Order 66 to wipe out the Jedi. This time, Darth Vader's Jedi hunters, the Inquisitorius, are being unleashed to hunt down the remaining Jedi, including Kenobi himself, who's been in hiding on Tatooine, fulfilling his oath to look after Anakin's son, Luke Skywalker. Of course, that only accounts for the basis of the story.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series was originally envisioned as a movie, but with the launch of Disney+, Lucasfilm opted to turn the story into a TV show, which finally premiered in May 2022. Obi-Wan Kenobi will have six episodes in total, two of which premiere back-to-back on May 27th. As long as there aren't any interruptions in the schedule, which there shouldn't be considering it hasn't happened with any other Marvel or Star Wars series yet, Obi-Wan Kenobi's finale will air on June 22nd.
