Ever since the very first Pokemon games, Eevee has stood out as something special. While Eevee's adorable design has a lot to do with its popularity, it also caught Pokemon fan's attention because of the unique way it evolves. Unlike Pokemon that have linear evolution paths, Eevee can evolve into a variety of Pokemon of different types, as long as specific conditions are met. These Eevee evolutions have been affectionately dubbed «Eeveelutions» by fans, and it's always exciting when new Pokemon games come out to see if Eevee is set to get yet another form.

The last time that Game Freak and Nintendo introduced a new Eevee evolution to the Pokemon series was with Pokemon X and Y, which saw the debut of fairy-type Eeveevlution Sylveon.
