Primetime Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe actor Ray Liotta, star of Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas, has died at 67. After starting off as a bartender in New York, Liotta got his start in acting with the soap opera Another World before heading to Los Angeles in the early '80s in the hopes of breaking out in the film industry. He would quickly find his hopes coming true as he landed work in a number of films, including 1986's Something Wild, which earned him his first Golden Globe nomination.
After appearing in Field of Dreams as iconic baseball player Shoeless Joe Jackson, Liotta would land his most acclaimed role to date in Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas, in which he starred as mobster Henry Hill. In the years that followed, his star profile would continue to rise with well-received roles in James Mangold's Cop Land, Ridley Scott's Hannibal, Killing Them Softly and The Place Beyond the Pines. Liotta has even expanded his footprint away from film and television by portraying Tommy Vercetti in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and starring in Call of Duty: Black Ops II's Mob of the Dead expansion.

Deadline has brought the sad news that Ray Liotta has passed away at the age of 67. The Goodfellas star reportedly died in his sleep while filming a new movie, Dangerous Waters, in the Dominican Republic. At the time of writing, no official statement from Liotta's family or representatives has been released about his passing.
