Screen Junkies' latest Honest Trailer lampoons Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas, comparing Henry Hill to Captain America. Goodfellas is Scorsese's 1990 gangster classic, which tells the story of Hill's time with the mob. The late Ray Liotta played Hill alongside an all-star cast, including Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, and Paul Sorvino.
Screen Junkies shared the Goodfellas Honest Trailer, which wastes no time in saying that Scorsese delivered one of the best MCU movies ever made, quickly clarifying that it stands for Mafia Cinematic Universe. As the trailer points out all the actors that audiences have come to know from other projects, with many appearing on The Sopranos, the narrator says Goodfellas offers «more quotable lines for dads than an SNL box set.» However, the Honest Trailer digs into real MCU connections, comparing the story of Henry Hill to that of Captain America by pointing out that each features a resilient kid brought up in New York who took copious amounts of drugs before joining a powerful organization. All joking aside, Goodfellas is considered a classic film, with the awards to back it up. It was nominated for six Academy Awards and five Golden Globes, with both awards bodies nominating Scorsese for Best Director. Unfortunately, Goodfellas won only a single Oscar for Pesci as Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Still, even with the Honest Trailer dubbing the film «White Men-ace 2 Society,» Goodfellas has stood the test of time, with many viewers still holding the film in high regard to this day.
