It has been spotted that Overwatch 2 doesn't let players shoot the Jesus statue featured in one of the hybrid maps. Since Overwatch was initially released in 2016, players have noticed unique details about the various maps, but this Paraiso one in Overwatch 2 is powerful enough to reflect Pharah's ultimate ability and more.
The first Overwatch offered many interesting details across the 22 total maps and Blizzard maintains this theme with the locations featured in Overwatch 2. Though it wasn't part of the original Overwatch map rotation, Paraiso has become a fan favorite of players that were anticipating a map set in Brazil. Because Paraiso portrays the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, it fittingly includes the iconic Jesus statue overlooking the hero shooter map, but some players may not have expected to interact with it in this unique way.
Blizzard Hints at Changes to Overwatch 2 Competitive Play
Reddit user 0micronGaming has garnered over 14,000 upvotes on an upload they posted less than a day ago showing Pharah firing rockets that are immediately deflected by a Jesus statue. The clip of their Pharah gameplay in Overwatch 2 shows them firing their ultimate ability and additional rocket launcher shots at the Jesus statue of Paraiso. The Rio de Janeiro Jesus statue deflects the plethora of explosives from Pharah's Barrage ability in Overwatch 2as 0micronGaming continues to hover in the sky above the hybrid map and prepares another onslaught. Two more rockets are shot at the statue, with the trajectory going to the left before more projectiles fired at the mountain beneath it are also pushed away with as much ease as when they were fired at the Biblical figure.
Other Overwatch 2 maps can be interacted with as well.
