Publisher THQ Nordic and Charleroi-based developer Appeal Studios (which also released Gangs of Sherwood a few days ago) have just unveiled the release date for Outcast: A New Beginning. The sequel to 1999's seminal open world action/adventure game will be released on March 15, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. As usual, the PC version will be cheaper (SRP of €59.99 / $59.99 / £49.99 compared to the console's SRP of €69.99 / $69.99 / £59.99).
The project follows the 2017 remake, Outcast: Second Contact, which was obviously a testbed for this new game. Announced in September 2021, Outcast: A New Beginning still features the some protagonist.
The original team behind Outcast 1 has reunited to create this fascinating world, full of dangerous creatures and home to the Talan people – an ancient culture whose fate has become inextricably linked with earth since the events of the first game. You play as Cutter Slade, ex-Navy SEAL, sporting the same dry wit he had back in the 90s – however, the world around him has changed and eventually, so will he.
The Steam page only includes barebones system requirements, so we'll have to stay tuned to get the full picture in this regard.
