OnePlus has been using optical fingerprint scanners for as long as we have seen under-display fingerprint scanners, and while good, they are not as fast as ultra-sonic fingerprint scanners and definitely not as secure. However, the company might change that as it announced that it will use an “ultra-thin under-screen fingerprint scanner." Sadly, it is not mentioned here whether it will be optical or ultra-sonic, but considering how the company has mentioned that it will be ultra-thin, there is a chance that it will be the latter since optical fingerprint scanners are basically cameras right under the screen.
