Mintrocket's is coming to PlayStation Plus on April 16. As its name would suggest, the title follows a professional diver called Dave who catches unique fish during the day to serve at his seaside sushi restaurant at night. The title was released to extremely high acclaim on PC in June 2023, with a Nintendo Switch version released later that year. It sparked some controversy when it was nominated for the "" award at The Game Awards, however, as Mintrocket is a subsidiary of Nexon, Korea's biggest game company, and would have had more funding than most actual Indie developers.
's director, Jaeho Hwang, stated in an interview with that while he was pleased the game received a nomination due to the team's hard work, even he didn't consider it an indie title.
A PlayStation Blog post from 's director Jaeho Hwang confirmed that the title will be coming to the PlayStation Plus game catalog on the same day it launches on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, enabling as many players as possible access to the game on Sony's consoles. PlayStation 5 players can also enjoy increased sensory engagement through the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which are put to great use through several mini-games.
's PlayStation launch comes within less than a month of its previously announced expansion, which arrives on all of the game's platforms in May. The DLC will be completely free, meaning all players who have accessed through PlayStation Plus won't have to pay extra to witness the King of the Monsters and the other "" lurking in the depths.
Developer Mintrocket hasn't said much about how Godzilla will fit into the game, but he appeared at the end of the PlayStation announcement trailer with Dave looking at him from his boat.
