The release of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak dramatically expanded the roster of monsters to hunt. New and old creatures alike joined Monster Hunter Rise, but each new entry in the Monster Hunter series leaves some monsters behind. Many haven't been seen in years, leaving players wondering when they will next get to hunt these forgotten monsters again.
Monster Hunter Rise and its predecessor Monster Hunter World have both done a commendable job of representing the series' history, with some classic Monster Hunter reps appearing in every game so far — namely the signature Rathian and Rathalos. But others have been excluded from newer releases, stuck in the earliest iterations of the Monster Hunter series. From elder dragons to mild-mannered herbivores, these memorable monsters deserve a spot in future Monster Hunter Rise updates.

It's known for inflicting mindless devastation on its surroundings, leveling towns and ignoring hunters entirely thanks to its hulking size, ranking as one of the strongest Elder Dragons according to lore.
