The Sunbreak expansion comes to PlayStation and Xbox consoles April 28.

Only moments before the start of March 9's Capcom Showcase, the Xbox and PlayStation release date for Monster Hunter: Rise's latest expansion was revealed thanks to a listing update on PlayStation's digital storefront. According to the listing, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will officially be released on Xbox and PlayStation consoles on April 28, 2023.
The publisher confirmed this release date in its Capcom Showcase before announcing an additional digital event focusing on even more post-launch content is scheduled for April. This stream will also go hand-in-hand with Monster Hunter Rise's Title 5 update, which is slated to add a returning Elder dragon and a powered-up monster to the game.

The Sunbreak expansion first launched for PC and Nintendo Switch in June 2022, and added a brand-new story that picks up shortly after the events of the main game. It also features three new, powerful creatures known as the Three Lords: Garangolm, the Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and the Elder Dragon Malzeno–each of which the player will take on. Sunbreak has already sold more than 2 million copies across Switch and PC.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is now available to preorder through various retailers and the PlayStation store, but currently remains unlisted on Xbox's Games Catalog. Preorder bonuses for the regular edition of Monster Hunter Rise:
