NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB GPU is already discounted in Europe which is the trend for all new graphics card launches.
NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB GPUs had a somewhat controversial release mainly due to the company's decision to have no official review coverage. Even in the benchmarks shown by NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB wasn't a whole lot faster than the 8 GB model but cost $100 more. The card could not attract interest, so a price drop was expected, as such, It is now reported that the German retailer Mindfactory has discounted the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB below its MSRP.
The MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Ventus 3x GPU is currently retailing at €519 at Mindfactory, a drop of €30 from its launch MSRP of €549. The price drop makes it evident that the GPU is unable to gain traction in European markets which was expected given the poor reception, zero marketing & the review program which was entirely non-existent (not that it would have made things any better). We expect the price decline to transition into global markets as well, and we could soon see the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB retailing below the US $499 MSRP.
The reason why the GPU hasn't been able to attract sales is simple. According to benchmarks disclosed by NVIDIA itself, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB showed minor single-digit gains from its 8 GB variant. Despite double the VRAM, the card is only suitable for 1080p gaming and could perform adequately at 1440p only when using upscaling technologies like DLSS. The card is useful for Stable Diffusion and AI performance due to more significant memory, but for the gaming segment, it is not worth the $100 difference from the 8 GB variant.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB launch can be summed up as
