Koei Tecmo has announced Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, the 16th entry to the series that was first released in 1983. The simulation title will have players use diplomacy and military strength in an attempt to unify Japan during the 16th Century Warring States period. The announcement trailer gives a glimpse of what players should expect in the game.
Players will be able to call on AI retainers to help run the various territories and plan the next moves. If you find one of your retainers to be untrustworthy you can always swap them out for one of the other 2,100 available in the game. A new addition for the series is different sieges taking place on the same map, mixing in sieges on the flatlands as well as in the more mountainous terrain. Policies will impact entire clans, while land holders will be able to develop the dominion themselves. Officials and conservators will be appointable too so they can shape both how the clan runs, as well as give advice on the impact of policies. You will be able to have one to one conversations to deepen bonds too, stopping characters from breaking away.
Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening is due to be released on July 20th for PC via Steam, Switch, and PS4. The game will be a digital only release.
