We've datamined a new Transmog loot option potentially coming in Patch 10.1. This new option will give transmog collectors slightly higher priority for transmog items, especially highly coveted items like tier tokens. In Patch 10.0.5, changes were made to loot rolls to check if a player owns a tier token at equal or greater power in order to roll need. While this prevented players from unconditionally being able to roll Need on tier tokens they might not actually need, it made it significantly more difficult for transmog collectors to obtain lower difficulty tier tokens to complete their transmogs as the only other loot option was for them to roll Greed with the rest of the raid. This Transmog loot option is likely Blizzard's response to the frustration of that 10.0.5 change and gives slightly higher priority to transmog collectors.
How the Transmog Option Likely WorksThe Transmog loot option will have higher priority than Greed but lower than both Main Spec and Off Spec Need as determined by the lower value in the code below. New Loot Roll States found within the Interface/AddOns/Blizzard_APIDocumentationGenerated/LootHistoryDocumentation.lua The Transmog loot roll option only appears if you can transmog the item being rolled on and replaces the Greed option entirely in that circumstance. Group Loot Frame options in Interface/FrameXML/GroupLootFrame.lua The exact nature of the 'canTransmog' check remains unclear. We're currently unsure if it simply checks if an items can be transmogged by your class or if it's a more comprehensive check that determines if a transmog appearance is already collected or not. Regardless, this should offer significant relief for transmog collectors.
