Dataminers have found references to The Powerpuff Girls in the final update for MultiVersus before it goes on a hiatus until 2024, implying that the iconic trio will be part of the game at some point.
It's been some time since we've reported on datamined MultiVersus content, mostly because there's been nothing to talk about since Marvin the Martian was released back in November, but it looks like the dry season is over just in time for the game to be removed from all digital storefronts. To prepare for that sunsetting, MultiVersus received one final update yesterday and it has some clear hints at content to come in the future.

As reported by reliable MultiVersus insider AusilMV, the final update for the game contains a new string for the Powerpuff Girls, which implies that they're now planned for the game at some point. Since they've only just been added to the game, it seems that work on them has only just begun, but we've also got another year until we see MultiVersus again, so there's no telling what characters will be added from the start. The datamine suggests that a Townsville stage is also planned to release alongside the Powerpuff Girls.
Although the Powerpuff Girls are the highlight of the datamine, they're not the only thing that's been confirmed. AisulMV also revealed that a "Munchie Madness" team event is planned, with unique skins for Jake and Shaggy. Speaking of skins, several new ones were mentioned in the datamine, including a Pink Diamond one for Steven Universe, a zombie one for Jake, and a "warmup" one for LeBron.
Finally, AisulMV also confirms that the Joker is the next character planned for the game. At least, he was before it was taken
