Nintendo has updated its lifetime sales numbers for various consoles, including the Nintendo Switch. As of September 30th, it has sold 132.46 million units. The last major milestone was 129.53 million units, so it sold about 2.93 million units in its last quarter, slightly down from the same period in the previous year. Software sales have surpassed 1.133 billion units.
Overall, the platform continues performing well, even with rumors circulating about a Nintendo Switch successor. It’s rumored to target a release on September 24th, 2024, with November 3rd as an alleged backup. There will reportedly be two SKUs – a Standard Edition for $449 and an all-digital model for $399 – and features like Nvidia DLSS 3.5 and Ray Reconstruction are apparently supported.
Nintendo has yet to officially announce a Switch successor or address rumors of showcasing the same behind closed doors at Gamescom. Stay tuned for any potential announcements in the coming months.
