While the successor to the Nintendo Switch is subject to quite a bit of rumours and speculation right now, head of GameIndustry.biz, Christopher Dring, has indicated that Nintendo might be planning something for its next console this month.
While not mentioning any direct sources, Dring mentions on Twitter that there are industry whispers happening around “something” related to the Nintendo Switch 2 in September.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has been subject to several rumours, ranging from a possible launch window of some time after April 2025, to new hardware features, such as an improved kickstand and new Joy-Con buttons. The console is also expected to be a considerable leap in power over the Nintendo Switch, with rumours indicating that it will be able to output at 4K with DLSS enabled.
The console is also expected to have an 8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1080p. Nintendo itself is yet to make any official announcement surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2, though the company has previously confirmed that it will be officially unveiling its next-gen console sometime before April next year.
With industry whispers around ‘something’ Switch 2-related happening this month. I thought I’d remind everyone of the official list of the greatest games consoles of all time.
1. Nintendo Switch
2. Everyone else
