A new Star Wars miniseries from Marvel Comics, Star Wars: Yoda, will explore the Jedi Master's life story. Jedi Master Yoda has always been one of the most mysterious figures in the Jedi — in large part because of George Lucas' design. Yoda's species doesn't even have a name; when questioned about Yoda's race, Lucas famously suggested the aged Jedi Master was really the love child of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy.
Yoda was 900 years old when he trained Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back, with Lucas imagining him fulfilling the classic Buddhist trope of wisdom and power being found in the most unlikely beings. Recent comics have begun to explore his backstory a little, stepping back in time to the High Republic when he was more active on the front lines. Now, though, it seems Lucasfilm intend to chronicle Yoda's life story in rather more detail.

Lucasfilm has officially announced a ten-issue miniseries that will explore Yoda's history. It's set in the moments before Luke Skywalker's arrival on Dagobah, and sees Yoda reflect on his past regrets and the lessons he has learned. It will kick off with memories of Yoda in the High Republic Era, when the light of the Jedi blazed brightest; this will be told by writer Cavan Scott and artist Nico Leon. Speaking to StarWars.com, Scott revealed this tale would "see Yoda as part of a new community, interacting in a way that I don’t think we’ve seen before.
