's anniversary celebrations are spilling into 2025, with the release of a new due out in February and several other big plans teased as well.
Stern Pinball, a maker of licensed pinball games, has announced, a new pinball machine coming out this year. The game features an animatronic mech red dragon and the voice talents of Michael Dorn, Kevin Smith, Luke Gygax, Chris Prynoski, Brendon Small, Gerard Way, Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, and Marisha Ray. The game also features a campaign storyline with character creation, items that can be unlocked or purchased with gold, and a branching storyline. Characters will also face classic monsters like owlbears, mimics, and even a gelatinous cube that traps pinballs using magnets.
isn't the first pinball machine to be released with a theme. Bally Manufacturing released a pinball machine back in 1987, complete with Larry Elmore art pulled from the Red Box. However, the new comes with several new features in addition to standard pinball offerings like ramps, targets, and bumpers. For one, the game utilizes a save function via Stern's Insider Connected system that allows a player to continue their campaign, using the same character and unlocking new choices and features as they progress through the campaign.
also features a new storyline, featuring Tiamat the Dragon Queen trying to escape her abyssal prison. Players will also face off against Xanathar the beholder and Sammaster the lich, along with Rath the Ruthless, the red dragon that appears in the pinball machine.
