Peter Gadiot is the latest to join the cast of Netflix's upcoming One Piece adaption and will be playing pirate captain Shanks.
Gadiot joins the previously announced cast Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D Luffy, Mackenyu as Rorona Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Morgan Davies as Koby, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, Jeff Ward as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, and Vincent Regan as Garp.
Shanks is a legendary captain of the Red Haired pirate crew and one of the Four Emperors in the second half of the Grand Line. Shanks is also the main character Monkey D. Luffy's childhood hero and a former member of Gol D. Roger's crew, who was also a nefarious pirate.

The live-action series is based on the manga classic and will be co-produced by Tomorrow Studios (who created the Netflix adaptation of Cowboy Bebop) and One Piece publisher, Shueisha.
Eiichiro Oda, the author of the manga series, will also serve as an executive producer along with Matt Owens, Steven Maeda, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios.
One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew as they explore a fantastical world of endless oceans and exotic islands in search of the world’s ultimate treasure known as the «One Piece» to become the next Pirate King.
