HBO's The Last Of Us show has proven a huge success, drawing in an audience of millions of viewers. The Last Of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann marked the premiere of the first season's finale with a Twitter post, thanking the fans for watching and promising a return next season.
What a ride! Thank you to everyone that tuned in and helped make this show such a wonderful journey. We’ll miss your weekly thoughts, videos, reactions, artwork, cover songs, etc! Can’t wait to do it again with y’all! See you next season! Until then, endure & survive! ♥️ pic.twitter.com/qFMG5Ke7I7
Druckmann's post also thanks the fans for their weekly social media engagement, which helped fuel interest in the TV adaptation. The show was renewed for Season 2 back in January, after its series premiere became the second-biggest debut ever with 22 million viewers, a number that has no doubt increased dramatically since then. Star Pedro Pascal told Collider that there's a chance that the second season will enter production this year, though it's far from certain. We spoke to Marlene actress Merle Dandridge about the crushing finale, too.
