The third and final trailer for Morbius, starring Jared Leto as the Marvel villain, has finally been released. Sony's Spider-Man Universe isn't stopping anytime soon as the studio continues to bring famous villains from Peter Parker's mythology to the screen. While the web-slinger has yet to appear in Sony's Marvel-inspired franchise, Morbius will address Spider-Man's existence in one way or another. Following Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Michael Morbius is the next Spider-Man baddie to get their own standalone film. Much like Eddie Brock and his Symbiote, Sony is taking the anti-hero route with Leto's Morbius, drawing directly from the canon.
Morbius was set to hit theaters in July 2020 but got pushed back numerous times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At last, the Daniel Espinosa-directed film arrives in cinema in less than two months as Leto takes on another comic book character. Morbius tells the story of Michael, a scientist that tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, with a little help from vampires. The movie also stars Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson as Simon Stroud, Al Madrigal as Alberto Rodriguez, and Jared Harris as Morbius's mysterious mentor. Michael Keaton, who played The Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, is reprising the role of Adrian Toomes in some capacity.
