Newly released behind-the-scenes images show Jared Leto preparing to film the upcoming Marvel film, Morbius. Following Venom and its sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Morbius will be the third film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, which focuses on Marvel Comics characters associated with Spider-Man. Directed by Daniel Espinosa, the director of Safe House, Morbius stars Leto as the title character.The film is produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel and is set to premiere on April 4, 2022.
Morbius tells the story of one of Marvel's most conflicted antiheroes, Dr. Michael Morbius. Morbius' desperate attempts to cure his rare blood disease twist the man into the Living Vampire who must contend with the evil he has awoken within himself. The upcoming film will also feature Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Morbius' fiancee, Matt Smith as Milo, the film's main antagonist, and a reworking of Morbius's friend Loxias Crown, who shares the same disease, as well as Tyrese Gibson and Al Madrigal as Simon Stroud and Roberto Rodriguez, two FBI agents hunting Morbius after his monstrous transformation. Additionally, Michael Keaton is reprising his role from Spider-Man: Homecoming as the Vulture.
