As Morbius is about to hit theaters, the director says he's keeping the door open for all sorts of future Marvel crossovers down the line. Following the massive success ofSpider-Man: No Way Home, Sony Pictures is continuing to focus on its other Marvel-related properties. While not falling within the MCU umbrella, Sony's Spider-Man Universe of movies is continuing to get fleshed out with more villains from Peter Parker's comic book roster. Venom has had two films following the adventures of Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock, and Jared Leto is the next actor to bring one of Spider-Man's enemies from page to screen in Morbius.
While Morbius is just one of several upcoming Spider-Man characters getting their live-action debut, the film will follow the character as an anti-hero rather than a villain. Despite existing within a different universe, there is one crossover already being set up in one way or another, through the inclusion of Michael Keaton. Even though Sony Pictures has been keeping details close to the chest regarding his involvement, multiple Morbius trailers have featured Keaton's Adrian Toomes, a.k.a. Vulture, from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Whether this is meant to be the same iteration of the antagonist remains to be seen.
