In an effort to get fans excited for the Web-Slinger’s next adventure, the company has put out a new advertisement for Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.’s upcoming series. The trailer’s pulse-pounding atmosphere indicates that the days ahead are going to be anything but pleasant for Peter Parker.
Since premiering in Amazing Fantasy #15, Spider-Man has arguably been one of the most popular heroes in comic book history. The story of Peter Parker and his lifelong struggles to ensure he uses his powers responsibly has been told by a number of legendary creators. For years, runs on the character have explored the chaos and tragedies that inevitably come with the burden of heroism.

Excitement is beginning to stir as a new direction for Spider-Man is on the horizon, but a new trailer shows the next chapter of his life may be one of his darkest yet. In a new video posted by Marvel Comics, dark tones ring out and painful screams are heard. As glimpses of Peter Parker in torment flash on-screen, the question “What did Spider-Man do?” is slowly asked after each unsettling frame. Fans are informed “Spider-Man’s world is crashing down around him” as Peter is separated from his closest confidants. It gets worse as “His enemies taste blood in the water” with villains such as Tombstone, Mr. Negative and Madame Masque are all lined up to bring their worst to Spider-Man’s door. As Marvel notes “He thinks things can’t get any worse” but “He’s very, very wrong.”
