Capcom has revealed Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Title Update 5, the latest free content drop for the game, which will arrive tomorrow, 20th April for the game on Nintendo Switch and PC – Sunbreak doesn’t launch on PlayStation or Xbox until next week and will be a little bit behind in terms of content.
The headline new monster will be Amatsu, another fearsome Elder Dragon that can control the weather and summon storms and lightning strikes. However, Amatsu is not the only new beast to battle, with Risen Shagaru Magala a new variant that uses the Qurio to become even more ferocious.
Amatsu can be battles at MR10, while Risen Shagaru Magala will be unlocked at MR180. Both naturally reward players with materials and components to craft new gear that has unique new skills.
Further to this, two more Risen Elder Dragons have been added to Anomaly Research Quests, with the new Anomaly Investigation cap of level 300. The new ‘Qurious Melding’ feature allows for more skill customisation, and there’s new Special Investigations for once you’ve maxed out at level 300 Anomaly Investigation.
There will also be more Event Quests that bring rewards such as new poses, the Bloodmalice Layered Armor, Buff Body Layered Armor, and Lagombi Ears. Oh and some paid cosmetics.
As already mentioned, all of this will be available first for PC and Switch from tomorrow, 20th April. When the Sunbreak expansion launches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One on 28th April, it will be launching with all of the content up to Free Title Update 3. TU4 with Chaotic Gore Magala will come at some point in summer 2023, but we hope that it can catch up to be in lockstep with the previous versions soon.
