Minisforum has once again shown its high-performance Mini-ITX PC & motherboard line which will incorporate AMD's Ryzen 9 7945HX3D CPU.
We know that Minisforum has a new Mini-ITX PC on the way which will feature motherboards that are equipped with AMD's Dragon Range and Intel's Raptor Lake CPUs. These chips will come in mobility iterations featuring a BGA design which means that the Mini-ITX boards will not be able to upgrade from their CPU specification but the rest of the board can be upgraded.
When we were initially presented the Mini-ITX motherboards at Computex 2023, we found out the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX and Intel Core i9-13900HX variants but it looks like Minisforum already has a more powerful option for each camp in the works.
During a recent presentation, Minisforum once again showed the Mini-ITX motherboards which are now said to be equipped with up to Intel Core i9-13980HX 16-Core and AMD's Ryzen 9 7945HX3D 16-Core CPUs. The motherboards will support up to 100W TDPs and that should cover the baseline power requirements of both chips.
The Ryzen 9 7945HX3D was recently announced as AMD's fastest mobility gaming CPU, offering the 16-core 3D V-Cache option for laptops. This chip in a 100W TDP should be an absolute efficiency & gaming powerhouse. The cooling solution shown over the motherboards isn't finalized but renders of the Mini ITX PC show a vast heatsink array and a active-cooling solution over the motherboard. It should also be remembered that 3D V-cache chips usually perform really well even with low TDPs & while the chip isn't configured the same as its 120W and 170W+ desktop brethren, it should still be impressive in gaming and multi-threaded workloads.
It can also be seen that the PCIe Gen5 slot has a riser
