Samsung has unveiled the world's first 32 Gb DDR5 DRAM solution based on 12nm process tech which enables up to 128 GB memory modules.
So far, memory manufacturers such as SK hynix and Micron offer up to 24 Gb DDR5 DRAM which enables up to 96 GB memory solution but Samsung takes it up a notch with a 33.3% denser 32Gb solution based on the 12nm node. Meanwhile, Micron has confirmed 32 Gb DDR5 DRAM too but only announced it through its roadmap so far.

This achievement comes after Samsung began mass production of its 12nm-class 16Gb DDR5 DRAM in May 2023. It solidifies Samsung’s leadership in next-generation DRAM technology and signals the next chapter of high-capacity memory.

Having developed its first 64-kilobit (Kb) DRAM in 1983, Samsung has now succeeded in enhancing its DRAM capacity by a factor of 500,000 over the last 40 years.
