It’s a good week for Metal Gear Solid fans, with Konami finally revealing the much-rumored remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, dubbed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Co-developed by Konami and Virtuos, it’s bringing back the original voice cast and will be a “faithful recreation” with “evolved” gameplay.
While a release date isn’t confirmed, the publisher also unveiled Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, releasing this Autumn. It features the original Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in one collection.
Lest there were concerns about it only being available digitally (like Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2), Konami UK confirmed on Twitter, “There will be physical and DL versions of the collection available.” Of course, how much the collection will cost and which of the “latest platforms” it will launch on remains to be seen.
Nevertheless, it’s good news for those who want to own physical versions of the classics without potentially dropping a bomb on the original PS One/PS2-era discs. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
