Metal Gear Solid 4 was the PS3 entry in Hideo Kojima's storied series. There it remains as the game wasn't remastered for the PS4 and nor has it been ported. Although long thought to be a Sony exclusive, an ex-Konami employee cleared this up last month when it was revealed no such exclusivity deal existed, but just that Kojima didn't want to port it to the Xbox 360.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is a classic in the series with a long, convoluted plot (well it is MGS and a Kojima title after all), featuring robot wolves, cyborgs, and other futuristic tech as players take control of a prematurely aged Solid Snake. Those who played through it might have noticed one recurring visual motif, that of frying eggs.

Players will remember how an overhead shot of eggs frying in a pan is used repeatedly throughout Metal Gear Solid 4 and over the years theories have developed over the meaning communicated by the differences in the eggs shown over the course of the game. Seriously, there is a lot going on with the eggs.
Now, on Twitter and in relation to the game's 14th anniversary Hideo Kojima revealed that the team ate a lot of fried eggs while making Metal Gear Solid 4. "Watching 'Funny Games', I was suddenly reminded of the fried egg scene at the beginning of each chapter of MGS4", Kojima Tweeted.
"I remember it was impossible to make the dish look tasty with the CG of the time, so we shot this scene in live action, over and over again to get the OK take. Of course, we ate them after all".
