Paramount+ has announced the Season 4 renewal for the popular crime drama series led by Marvel vet Jeremy Renner.
The renewal comes after four months since the show wrapped up its 10-episode third season, which is still available for streaming on Paramount+. The latest season, which ranked no. 1 on the streaming platform, was Renner’s first acting project after recovering from the life-threatening injuries he sustained from a snowcat accident in January 2023.
Mayor of Kingstown is created and executive produced by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, who both worked together on the Yellowstone series. The ensemble cast also includes Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky, Hugh Dillon as Ian, Emma Laird as Iris, Aidan Gillen as Milo Sunter, Derek Webster as Stevie, Hamish Allan-Headley as Robert, Nishi Munshi as Tracy, and more. The series is executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and Michael Friedman.
“In Season 3, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls,” reads the logline. “The pressure is on Mike McLusky to end the war, but things get complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the Mayor’s attempts to keep the peace among all factions.”
