The Super Bowl may have only just begun but the commercials are already well underway, including a brand new, full-length trailer for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is set to release this spring. Take a look at the trailer below.
In addition to the new trailer, Marvel also released a brand new poster for the film.
This is the second extended look at the movie we've been given, following the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home which featured a cut-together teaser rather than the traditional bonus scene. This trailer, however, gives a much fuller picture of what, exactly, Strange will be up against this time around. «Every night I dream the same dream,» Strange says in voice over, «then, the nightmare begins.»
The nightmare, of course, relates to the way the multiverse is unraveling thanks to Strange's spell going awry back in No Way Home--of course now Strange doesn't remember Peter Parker, but the effects of the spell and its subsequent reversal are obviously not as simple. The trailer also features a better look at the return of Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who hasn't been around since the first Doctor Strange movie and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) who will be making her MCU debut in the film.
There's also plenty of Wanda Maximoff to go around, coming off her solo TV show debut, WandaVision. Unsurprisingly, she doesn't seem to be in the best headspace at the moment. Hopefully nothing goes cataclysmically wrong. (Things will definitely go cataclysmically wrong.)
Doctor Strange 2 hits theaters on May 6.
