Back in 2022, Magic: The Gathering released a series of Commander Decks based on Warhammer 40,000, which ended up being overall very popular in the community. Being so popular, those that play Magic the Gathering: Online were eager for them to be added to the title, only for Wizards of the Coast to explain that "technical hurdles" prevented them from doing so.
Well, whatever those technical hurdles were, they seem to have been overcome, as almost a year and a half after their tabletop debut, Warhammer 40,000's Commander decks are finally making their way to Magic: The Gathering Online. This was announced via a new blog post on the game's official website, which has announced that the same four decks that were released in 2022 will be available in the Magic: The Gathering Online store tomorrow at 10AM PT/6PM GMT.
The decks in question are the Forces of the Imperium, The Runious Powers, Tyranid Swarm, and Necron Dynasties, with each one selling for $39.99USD a pop. Be aware that if you're interested in adding these decks to your MTGO collection, you'll need to purchase them over the next month or so, as they'll be leaving the store on April 5. Once you've actually acquired the cards in these decks, they'll be added to your collection and can then be used in a variety of formats, including Legacy, Vintage, Commander, and Freeform.
It's also worth mentioning that the cards in these decks won't be included in Treausre Chests, so the only way to grab them is to the buy the decks via the Store.
