Lucasfilm's president says that Jude Law is the perfect lead for their new Star Wars series Skeleton Crew. The actor has had a long and storied career, including two Oscar nominations for The Talented Mr. Ripley in 1999 and Cold Mountain in 2003. Although the English actor has appeared in projects both large and small since the beginning of his career in the early '90s, he has only taken on major franchise projects in the last decade or so, beginning with Sherlock Holmes in 2009 and its 2011 sequel A Game of Shadows. The series' plot is still being kept under wraps, but it will star Law alongside a group of four 11 to 12-year-old younglings in an adventure that mimics Amblin coming-of-age projects set in the post-Return of the Jedi reconstruction era. The series will be helmed by Jon Watts, fresh off his gargantuan success with Tom Holland's Spider-Man trilogy capper No Way Home. Watts just dropped out of directing the MCU's Fantastic Fourfilm, so he was free to swing over to the Star Wars branch of Disney.
