Andor, the next original Star Wars series on Disney+, repeats the timeline from Disney’s first-ever Star Wars project. Star Wars Celebration 2022 revealed the first Andor teaser trailer for the long-awaited show, which follows Diego Luna’s character Cassian Andor’s time in the Rebellion before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The formation and expansion of the Rebellion is an interesting time in Star Wars’ history, and there is one other show which followed a very similar timeline withinStar Wars canon.
Star Wars Rebels was Disney’s first Star Wars project after completing the purchase of Lucasfilm Ltd in 2012. Following in the 3D-animated footsteps of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Rebels follows a small group of Rebels known collectively in Star Wars as The Ghost Crew as they serve in the fledgling Rebellion. Star Wars Rebels’ storylines pull from all corners of the galaxy, including the Inquisitors as they hunt for the last of the Jedi (a narrative thread that will also be featured in Obi-Wan Kenobi), Ahsoka’s journey after the events of Order 66, and even the fate of Darth Maul. At its heart, Star Wars Rebels is about a small group of people who found each other in the darkest of times and try to make the galaxy a better place in any way they can.

Both Andor andStar Wars Rebels follow a very similar timeline in regards to the founding of the Rebellion. Andor’s story begins five years before the events of Star Wars: Rogue One, and Star Wars Rebels takes place five years before the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
