iPhone 14 may have satellite support; check benefits for you
In a bunch of rumoured features for the upcoming iPhone 14 series, one of the highlighted ones is satellite connectivity. It was predicted last year to feature along with the iPhone 13 series, but of course, it never found its way to the customers. However, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shed light on the much-talked-about feature of the iPhone 14 that may change the way you communicate. It will prove to be of great help for those people who get stuck in remote or rural areas, or maybe a person who is in an emergency.
Ming-Chi-Kuo said in his blog on Medium, "The increasing frequency of natural disasters and geopolitical conflicts in recent years will likely make emergency texting/voice services via satellite communication a must-have smartphone feature." The good part is that he confirmed that Apple had completed hardware tests for this feature, as this is one of iPhone 14's test items before mass production. "iPhone 14's satellite communication mainly provides emergency texting/voice services," he added.
However, he further says that whether iPhone 14 will offer satellite communication service or not will depend on Apple and the operators' business model. Hence, it will be difficult to predict when iPhone 14 will offer satellite communication services precisely. But Apple analysts assured that it will happen eventually.
MIng-Chi Kuo also shared that MediaTek had already demonstrated satellite communication with commercial 5G smartphone hardware and Huawei is all set to hold a media event on September 6 to launch the new model Mate 50. Leaks and rumours suggest that it will offer emergency texting services via satellite communication.
