After months of anticipation, iPhone 14 launch day has finally arrived. Apple is expected to reveal its latest flagship smartphones at the “Far Out” Event today at the Steve Jobs Theater. The livestream of the event will begin at 10:30 pm IST. There have been numerous leaks and rumours about the design, specs and price of the iPhone 14. So, ahead of the launch, here's what we know about the iPhone 14 series so far.
iPhone 14 is expected to have the same notch design as previous iPhones but Apple could decrease its size further. The iPhone 14 Plus (Max) is expected to have a larger display than the standard iPhone 14. It is rumoured to have the same 6.7-inch screen size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max, albeit without the features that make it “Pro”. Apple expert and top analyst Jeff Pu has revealed that all iPhone 14 models will feature Apple's ProMotion displays with a high refresh rate of 120Hz. At this moment, only the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max offer the ProMotion displays.
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus/Max will be powered by Apple's A15 Bionic processor. Although, the A15 chip in the iPhone 14 is expected to be an improved version of the A15 Bionic currently powering the iPhone 13 series.
The standard iPhone 14 would be priced at $799 while the new iPhone 14 Plus/Max would be priced a $100 more at $899, according to reports by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. A recent report by marketing intelligence company TrendForce says that the iPhone 14 will reportedly be priced at $749, a huge $50 drop from the price of the iPhone 13. The iPhone 14 Plus/Max is expected to start at $849.
The Pro models of the iPhone 14 are expected to have a new notch design.
