Insomniac Games suffered one of the biggest leaks in gaming history, with over 1.3 million stolen files made public earlier this week. In a recent statement, it feels “both saddened and angered about the recent criminal cyberattack on our studio and the emotional toll it’s taken on our dev team.”
Along with “early development details” for Marvel’s Wolverine, it includes personal information on employees, current and former, and contractors. While still working to determine the impact, development on Wolverine continues, with the title currently in “early production.” The developer notes that it will “no doubt greatly evolve through development, as do all our plans.”
Official information will be shared “when the time is right.” Based on the leaks, Marvel’s Wolverine is coming in 2026, though plans could always change. Insomniac also has the X-Men license, exclusive to PlayStation until 2035, though it’s also working on Marvel’s Venom and Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.
Meanwhile, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will receive three post-launch DLC in 2024. The recently launched open-world title has a budget of $315 million and has sold 6.1 million copies as of November 12th, per the leaked documents. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Online is also rumored to be in the works, so stay tuned for official announcements in the coming year.
