In 2020, Indie Megabooth, best known for their massive indie game showcases at events such as PAX and GDC, sadly shuttered its doors after PAX East 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic sadly creating a lack of demand for any convention booths, let alone ones that were mega. However, they never said that they were permanently going away, rather that it would be more like they were going into “hibernation.” However, even as new in-person PAX and GDC events began to finally emerge in recent times, the Indie Megabooth was still nowhere to be seen…up until now.
Yes, during today’s Day of the Devs Summer Game Fest presentation, founder Kelly Wallick came on to triumphantly announce that yes, Indie Megabooth is finally making its grand comeback, officially declaring itself as Indie Megabooth 2.0 (not sure if that particular name will stick, though). Now, it hasn’t been announced exactly when Indie Megabooth 2.0 is going to officially make its first in-person debut, be it the upcoming PAX West, or GDC or PAX east next year. We do know that that the official site is now updated and live, though, so stay tuned to it, as well as Hardcore Gamer, for more updates about Indie Megabooth’s rise from the ashes as they arrive in the coming months.
