Harrison Ford is suited up and back in action with the first Indiana Jones 5 image from Lucasfilm. Ford is returning for the fifth installment in the long-running action franchise as the titular archaeologist alongside newcomers Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Toby Jones, Antonio Banderas and Olivier Richters. Plot details are being kept under lock and key for Indiana Jones 5 but is expected to be both a sequel and prequel.
James Mangold, the two-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind Logan and Ford v. Ferrari, is at the helm for Indiana Jones 5, having penned the script with his fellow Ford co-writers Jez and John-Henry Butterworth. Development on the film has languished for nearly 15 years as creator George Lucas struggled to find the right story for the project and Steven Spielberg handed the directing reins to Mangold in the hopes of breathing new life to the franchise. With filming having finally wrapped in February, audiences are getting the first glimpse at Indiana Jones 5.
