Indiana Jones 5 is bringing back Harrison Ford as the titular adventurer, which has left many wondering if his major love interest, Marion Ravenwood, will also be returning. After a 15-year-long hiatus, the Indiana Jones franchise is returning for the fifth installment in June 2023, which will follow up Steven Spielberg’s 2008 movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. This movie notably introduced Indiana Jones’ son, Mutt and reintroduced Indy's now-wife Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), who was the original love interest of Harrison Ford’s character in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
While the sequel won’t be directed by Steven Spielberg, Indiana Jones 5 is reviving the franchise with a new adventure for the beloved archaeologist. Alongside Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones 5 will feature plenty of new characters portrayed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Antonio Banderas, Toby Jones, and Thomas Kretschmann. The details of these roles remain undisclosed, but it’s expected that Indy will once again face off his typical Nazi or Russian foes.

As the cast for James Mangold’s Indiana Jones 5 grows, questions about which characters from the franchise will return have inevitably arisen. While he played a major role in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, all signs point toward the fact that Indy’s son Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf) will not appear in the sequel. On the other hand, Indiana Jones’ wife Marion Ravenwood is a different story.
