Immortals of Aveum has certainly turned more than a few heads thanks to its premise of a first person shooter set in a rich fantasy world, but there’s plenty more about it that has sparked even more excitement. Chief among those has to be the fact that it’s going to be a single player cinematic experience, which isn’t something you’d ordinarily expect from a shooter- especially one published by EA.
But though developer Ascendant Studios is currently fixated only on Immortals of Aveum’s big single player campaign – which will supposedly last at least 20-25 hours, if not more – multiplayer isn’t something that’s completely off the table. In fact, speaking in a recent interview published on the Epic Games website, creative director and Ascendant Studios CEO Bret Robbins confirmed that multiplayer is something the developer has thought about and even “spent some time working on”- perhaps indicating that it could be added to the game post-launch.
“We have spent some time thinking about [multiplayer], for sure,” Robbins said. “We may have spent some time working on that as well. But we’re not ready to really talk about anything like that. We’re focused fully on the single-player story experience right now.”
Immortals of Aveum will launch on July 20 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and will retail for $70.
